There are many symptoms for strep throat, which include severe sore throat, painful swallowing, swollen tonsils or lymph nodes, and white or yellow spots on a red throat. It can also be accompanied by a fever over 101 degrees F.
Strep is highly contagious for 2-5 days and it should be diagnosed through a physical examination by your doctor. Strep throat is typically treated through prescription antibiotics and clears up 3-7 days. It’s important to begin medication and treatment as soon as possible to avoid the bacteria from spreading to others.
